Touring cars
According to experts remote-controlled model touring cars are currently among the most popular electric vehicles. These little cars are all-wheel driven high-tech racers which allow tuning of all the parameters of a real DTM vehicle. Race entrants will compete in three sub-classes whereby two of these classes demand a regulated unified engine and the third allows a free choice of engine.

Flat surface foam rubber day
Thursday’s programme at the INTERMODELL¬BAU includes the fastest racing classes: 1:10 as well as 1:12 scale vehicles with highly non-slip foam rubber tyres. The high degree of traction of the tyres means the cars move as if on tracks and the skills of the drivers are put to the test by the high curve speeds.

NRW Fun Cup
The “NRW Fun Cup“ encompasses altogether five different racing classes and all the races will be run on the one day. The individual classes are:
1. Touring car expert (no engine limit)
2. Touring card with unified engines
3. Race trucks
4. Beginners’ class (of particular interest to youngsters)
5. Fun racer class (historical vehicles - pre-1990)
The heats will last between seven and ten minutes for each of the classes and for each class there will be between four and six heats per event. The race format is certain to prove a particular thrill – and with the final races starting already with the second heat, each and every heat will guarantee great excitement.
Saturday and Sunday, 17.-18.04.2010
Off-road hall
The two-day international off-road event to be held indoors will indeed be the most spectacular race event of the INTERMODELLBAU. Not only two and four-wheel drive off-road vehicles but also the so-called monster trucks will be driving round here. The vehicles must perform single and multiple special jumps as well as overcome artificial obstacles which can mean jumps of up to six metres wide and one metre high.
Growth perspectives
In the remaining halls there will be plenty of changes at the INTERMODELLBAU 2010. For the first time Westfalenhalle 1 will not be in use and instead hall 3B will form part of the exhibition for the first time. The well-established focal areas of interest will be changing their locations in the halls. Motor car models for example will now be found in hall 6, and truck models in halls 6 and 8. The new concept of the INTERMODELLBAU will also be making it more compact: the distance between the first and last exhibition halls will now be shorter. The INTERMODELLBAU has also received new growth potential through increasing the gross area available for the exhibition compared to the years prior to 2009 – to cover now an area of 52,000 square metres.
More than 20,000 individual models will be on view at the exhibition. Around 500 non-commercial and commercial exhibitors are expected to take part when the event arrives.
The INTERMODELLBAU will be taking place from 14th to 18th April 2010 in the Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund. Opening times: 09.00 to 18.00 hrs, Sunday to 17.00 hrs. Admission on the day is 11.00 EUR for adults and 4.50 EUR for children at the pay desk. Special family tickets and VRR-Combination-Tickets, which include not only admission but also the free use of transport in the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr linked transport system are also available. Access: with the Underground lines U45 and U46 to the stop ”Westfalenhallen“. For further information please go to www.intermodellbau.de.
