• Boom in interest from new exhibitors
• Inter-tabac – a great reputation around the world

Inter-tabac will be taking place from the 19th to the 21th September 2008 in the Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund, and there are already signs at an early stage of a higher than average number of registrations. At the moment, compared with the number of registrations at the same time last year Inter-tabac can boast of a rise of around 13% in rented areas, and an increase of around 26 per cent in the number of major exhibitors. Furthermore Inter-tabac is experiencing a remarkable boom in interest from new exhibitors. Over 25% of the exhibitors who have registered to date were not present with their own stand in 2007. Amongst the new exhibitors are well known companies like the Colibri Group, Sarome Co Ltd. and the Brazilian cigarette manufacturer Cibahia Tabacos Especiais Ltda. In addition the Indonesian Trade Promotion will be joining Mexico as the second national trade representative at Inter-tabac. Altadis U.S.A has expanded its commitment to the trade fair. This giant company from the cigar branch will be taking part as one of the main exhibitors at Inter-tabac for the first time. National newspapers will also be flying the flag: for the first time the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Frankfurter Rundschau will be present with their own stands.

This huge interest, above all by foreign companies, once again confirms the great reputation that Europe's leading trade fair for tobacco goods and smokers’ requirements enjoys around the world. Inter-tabac is an international trade fair of international dimensions, and the principal communication and order platform for the trade. Its importance is growing from year to year. In 2007 Inter-tabac broke all previous records with 5516 trade visitors, and a unique range of products and services offered by 233 exhibitors from 22 countries. One third of exhibitors and 26% of visitors came from abroad – not only from the countries bordering Germany but from all four corners of the globe. Inter-tabac has never been so international.
