The #rail2009 will welcome decision-makers and leading companies of the European mobility industry. This turns the #rail2009 a perfect place to make academic hopefuls meet their future employers – at the career forum. Here, on the third day, which is 11 November, young students will be able to meet top-class representatives from the railway and transport industry. The new hopefuls will get vivid insights into the fields of activity and career opportunities the industry has to offer, company representatives meet tomorrow's high potentials. KarriereForum is part of KarriereCampusRail launched by the Initiative Bahn NRW, an initiative of the Ministry of Building and Traffic of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in co-operation with the Ministry of Innovations, Science, Research and Technology. KarriereCampusRail gets junior staff members at their training posts – the universities– in touch with the country's leading companies and thus sets the course for a sustainable and innovative railway country of NRW.
KarriereCampusRail has started off on 9 June 2009 with a ceremonial kick-off event on the Düsseldorf Rheinterrassen. From then it is calling in at six leading NRW universities (Dortmund university, Siegen university, Duisburg-Essen university, RWTH Aachen, Wuppertal university, Paderborn university) in the field of mobility research. NRW Minister of Transport Lutz Lienenkämper as well as NRW Minister of Innovation Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart open the kick-off event of the KarriereCampusRail, well-known representatives from science and economy discuss "Education and professional prospects in the railway and transport industry of North Rhine-Westphalia“.
